چکیده

When combined with high-speed photography technology, the digital image correlation (DIC) method provides an excellent photographic processing capability that can be used to convert evolving full-field surface properties of structures sets two-dimensional (2D) or three-dimensional (3D) coordinate values. In this study, applicability DIC and cameras in underground mining was investigated by measuring displacement vibration rock pillars caused blasting. This technique is extensively engineering increasingly being applied new fields. As a result comparing results for blast measured values contact sensor through field tests, maximum speed were found 86% 93% accurate, respectively. addition, obtained appeared similar those predicted numerical analysis. Field test indicate both methods yielded results. Therefore, it concluded feasible use camera measure ground displacements vibrations from blasting mining. system conditions required measurement considered accuracy existing methods.

Digital Image Correlation for High-Speed Flywheels

The objective of the present work is to evaluate the suitability of using 3D digital image correlation (DIC) for measuring strains on high-speed flywheels. A two-camera DIC setup was used to characterize the effect of image blur on de-correlation and to measure strains on the surface of three 32-cm diameter plastic disks rotating in air at low speeds (2,000 rpm). In one set of experiments, imag...

Processing Digital Image for Measurement of Crack Dimensions in Concrete

The elements of the concrete structure are most frequently affected by cracking. Crack detection is essential to ensure safety and performance during its service life. Cracks do not have a regular shape, in order to achieve the exact dimensions of the crack; the general mathematical formulae are by no means applicable. The authors have proposed a new method which aims to measure the crack dimen...

Vibration measurement of a miniature component by high-speed image-plane digital holographic microscopy.

Measuring deformation of vibrating specimens whose dimensions are in the submillimeter range introduces a number of difficulties using laser interferometry. Normal interferometry is not suitable because of a phase ambiguity problem. In addition, the noise effect is much more serious in the measurement of small objects because a high-magnification lens is used. We present a method for full-field...

Measurement of shock wave unsteadiness using a high-speed schlieren system and digital image processing.

A new method to measure shock wave unsteadiness is presented. Time-resolved visualizations of the flow field under investigation are obtained using a high-speed schlieren optical system and the motion of the shock wave is determined by means of digital image processing. Information on the shock's unsteadiness is subsequently derived with Fourier analysis. A sample study on shock unsteadiness in...
